We match what a London card shop charges, or we sit a dollar under it. The machine never wins on price, it wins on being open. Half of these are sets the shops haven’t had on the shelf in months.

The drop
A vending machine is a rough ride for a booster pack
The coil turns and lets go of one pack.
It falls about a foot, not the whole height of the cabinet.
The bin is padded, so it lands flat instead of bouncing off bare metal.
If one still comes out creased, send us a photo and we’ll replace it. It’s a five dollar problem for us and a ruined pack for you.

We put it in a bubble tea shop on purpose. You order, then you stand there for four minutes with nothing to do, and the machine is right beside you. It’s a walk from campus and it’s open long after the card shops shut.

We buy the next set before it lands
Sets get expensive the week after release, not the week before. So we order at preorder pricing and hold it. That’s the only reason the machine can sit at shop prices and still work.

A metre of floor that pays you every month
We own the machine, we stock it, we fix it, and we carry the cost of the cards sitting in it. You give it a wall and a normal outlet. It works best where people already stand still for a few minutes.

Who runs it
Two people and one machine
PackArcade is a federally incorporated company in London, Ontario, owned equally by Idris Sirsi and Sebastian Winegardner. One of us finds the stock and runs the machine, the other funds it. There’s no warehouse and no staff behind this. If something goes wrong with your pack, you’re messaging one of us.

Before you ask
The questions people actually ask
01Are the packs sealed?
Yes. Everything in the machine comes from a sealed booster box, bundle or tin that we open ourselves, and packs go straight from that into the coil. Nothing is bought loose off a shelf, and nothing gets resealed.
02Have they been searched or weighed?
No. We don't weigh them, squeeze them or sort them, and we don't pull the good ones out first. The machine gets the whole box in the order it came out.
03Will the pack get damaged on the way down?
The delivery bin is padded and the drop is short. Packs land flat instead of bouncing off bare metal. If yours comes out creased, send us a photo on Instagram and we'll make it right.
04Can I pay with a card?
Card, tap and Apple Pay all work. There's a cash slot too if you'd rather.
05What if it takes my money and nothing comes out?
Send us the coil number and roughly what time it happened on Instagram. We'll refund you or leave a replacement with the counter. We'd much rather hear about it than have you not come back.
06Why not just go to a card shop?
Go to a card shop if one's open and has what you want. Half the sets in this machine are ones they've been sold out of for months, and this thing is still there at eleven on a Tuesday.
07Do you buy cards?
Not yet. Right now we sell sealed packs out of a machine, and that's the whole business.
